We’ve already covered a few of iOS 11 highlights in our previous posts. Here are a few more hidden features that might pique your interest.
Recommendations to Clear Storage
iOS 11 will also offer a few suggestions for clearing up storage. Like if they’re any unused applications installed on your iPhone which you haven’t used in a while, they will then be further suggested so that you can get rid of them instantly.
Offload Unused Apps to Save Storage Space
iOS 11 is now capable of automatically offloading unused applications when your device is low on storage. Although, the documents and data will still be saved so you can restore your application back whenever you want.
Last Used Time of Apps
The storage section will now display the last used time of the app right beneath the app’s name so you can easily figure out which apps to keep for long and which ones to delete.
iPhone Storage will now tell you about “System” space too
iPhone storage will now come with a separate section that displays space taken up by iOS software, apart from all your private stuff.
App Specific Recommendation to Clear Storage
The storage section will display app specific recommendations too. Say if you check Photos, in this way you can see the videos taking up most storage space in the Photos app and consider deleting them. Supposedly, such recommendations will be displayed for other apps as well.
The Siri and Search Tab Combines
This is another major tweak in the settings tab. You will find a new “Siri & Search” option here which basically combines Siri and spotlight search of your device.
Siri Icon Revamped
The Siri icon of iOS 11 has also undergone a minor overhaul which you’ll notice.
Clear Spotlight Search History Suggestions
The Siri suggestions will now come with a tiny “Clear” option allowing you to get rid of all previous and recent searches.
Spotlight Search now includes a Built in Dictionary
While using spotlight search in iOS 11 you’ll now notice a Dictionary section which adds more clarity and explanation to your respective search.
New “Accounts and Password” Tab in Settings
iOS 11 settings now comes with a new “Accounts & Passwords” tab which saves all your credentials at one place like user ID, passwords, passcode etc.
