However, there are a few wrestlers who get into it at a very young age, and by their mid 20’s, they’re already veterans. We know the likes of Paige, who followed in the footsteps of her parents and started training at the young age of thirteen. It is just mind-blowing when putting things into perspective.
On the current WWE main roster, there are several young wrestlers. In this article we will look at the ten youngest.
#10. Ruby Riott (28 years old)
Ruby Riott, the leader of The Riott Squad, joined NXT in late 2016 and spent the better part of a year in the Black and Gold brand. A year later in 2017, she made her main roster debut along with Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan as The Riott Squad by attacking both Becky Lynch and Naomi.
Despite being very talented, she has mostly served to elevate other wrestlers and has rarely received any big opportunities to showcase herself. Earlier this year, she had to take time off and underwent shoulder surgery. She had to do the same for her other shoulder a few months later, which effectively kept her out of action longer than expected.
#9. Otis (27 years old)
Otis made his NXT debut in mid-2016 and since then spent about two years in the brand along with his tag team partner Tucker. The duo was over with fans, but barely achieved anything in NXT. Earlier this year, Otis moved to the main roster and has regularly been in the title picture.
Although he and Tucker haven’t won the Tag Team Championships yet, Otis is still one of the popular Superstars on the roster due to his natural charisma and zany behavior that fans of all ages can enjoy. As of now, Heavy Machinery is on SmackDown and will likely see SmackDown Tag Team Championship opportunities in the future.
#8. Peyton Royce (27 years old)
Peyton Royce participated in the WWE tryout in Australia in late 2014 and would soon thereafter join the company. Her official debut came in May 2015 as KC Cassidy, and in a few months, she became known as Peyton Royce.
Royce earned several title opportunities during her two-year stint in NXT, but ultimately failed to win the title. In early 2018, Royce and Billie Kay (The IIconics) joined SmackDown by attacking Charlotte Flair. Since then, the duo have always been together, but despite winning the Women’s Tag Team Championships, something hasn’t clicked yet.
They rarely make appearances on TV, and now lose more often than they win, which has significantly hurt them. Hopefully, Royce, who is only 27, will receive more opportunities to prove herself.
#7. Sasha Banks (27 years old)
It is surprising that despite being only 27 years old, Sasha Banks has already achieved so much in her wrestling career. Making her NXT debut in 2012, Banks would work hard and became the NXT Women’s Champion. As part of the Four Horsewomen, Banks broke down barriers and proved that women could be just as good, if not better than men.
Joining the main roster in 2015, she has been very successful and has several titles to her name. As of now, she’s a part of SmackDown and might once again feud with on-again/off-again best friend Bayley come WrestleMania season.
With her best years ahead of her, it’s safe to say she will go down as one of the all-time greats when she hangs up the boots.
#6. Sonya Deville (26 years old)
Sonya Deville joined NXT after participating in the Sixth season of Tough Enough. She spent a year and a half down in NXT, where she honed her craft and polished herself. She made her RAW debut along with Mandy Rose in May 2017 and helped Paige fend off her opponents. The trio was known as Absolution until Paige was forced to retire due to injury.
After that, Deville and Rose went to SmackDown, where they’ve been for the last two years. Earlier this year, a split between the two was teased, but WWE never followed through on that story. It seems that WWE Creative doesn’t have anything significant for them, so they’ve been jobbing for a long time.
#5. Sarah Logan (26 years old)
Sarah Logan joined NXT in 2016, but spent less than a year in the brand before being called up. On the main roster, she was part of The Riott Squad with Liv Morgan and Ruby Riott. Unfortunately, she’s barely had any opportunities in her three years with the company and has mostly been a sideshow.
Maybe Logan should have been given more time in NXT to develop before making the move to RAW. Since The Riott Squad has now disbanded, she finds herself in a tough spot, as there are a lot of talented women competing for TV time.
Lately, she’s been wrestling on Main Event, but let’s hope the company can figure something out for her soon.
#4. Akam (26 years old)
Akam of the Authors of Pain signed a contract with NXT in December 2014 and made his official debut in mid-2015. A year later, in 2016, he was paired with Rezar, and the duo became known as the Authors of Pain. Together they dominated the NXT Tag Team Division and had Paul Ellering as their manager.
In his three year tenure on the brand, Akam won the NXT Tag Team Championships and had great matches against the likes of DIY and SAnitY. After moving to the main roster, the duo won the RAW Tag Team titles, but misfortune would soon follow. They lost the titles and Akam suffered a leg injury that has kept him out of action ever since. They might be on the verge of a return following several vignettes over the last month.
#3. Rezar (25 years old)
Speaking of Akam, the next entry on this list is his tag team partner Rezar. Rezar is approximately one year younger than Akam and has followed a similar path in WWE. Rezar had prior MMA experience and competed in 8 matches before taking part in a WWE tryout.
He was instantly put alongside Akam in the Authors of Pain, and as stated earlier, the duo was dominant in NXT. Their time on RAW hasn’t been nearly as productive, but hopefully they will return soon. One may think that they may be the next challengers for the RAW Tag Team Titles and would be perfect opponents for The Viking Raiders.
#2. Liv Morgan (25 years old)
Liv Morgan joined NXT in 2014 after being a life long wrestling fan. She spent close to three years in NXT, before moving up along with the previous mentioned Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan. Much like Logan, she hasn’t received many opportunities to be herself and showcase her ability to the fans.
Things may soon change, as she has been teasing a dark character for a while now. Many months ago, she promised to be “real” when she makes her return, which has the fans intrigued. Whether it is good or bad depends on how WWE Creative handles the gimmick, but it’s almost a guarantee that she will be looking forward to making the most out of a singles run.
#1. Humberto Carrillo (24 years old)
Humberto Carrillo is a relatively new performer in WWE compared to the previously mentioned wrestlers. He joined NXT in mid-2018 and has only had a few matches on the show. He’s also been a part of 205 Live, but hasn’t had much momentum behind him.
It was announced that as part of the WWE Draft, Carrillo was going to RAW. Right after joining the brand, he was put into a feud with AJ Styles. Putting Carrillo against such a big name right after his debut, shows that the company sees a lot of value in him.
Although Carrillo didn’t win the United States Championship, it’s only the beginning of what looks to be a successful WWE career. Better things certainly lay ahead for this 24 year old youngster.
