Prior to his title win yesterday, Jaglan also won the Junior World Golf Championships in California. Playing yesterday in Vegas at Angel Park, he beat 9-year-olds American Justin Dang and Sihan Sandhu in addition to 10-year-old Pongsapak Laopakdee of Thailand at the tournament, according to NDTV.

Jaglan is a world record holder, having finished 9-under at the Classic Junior Open, 2012.

Part of a golf academy in his village started by NRI Kapur Singh, Jaglan began with golf there. Although the academy subsequently folded, the young boy continued to practice in his backyard, watching videos on social media sharing platform YouTube.

Since then, Jaglan received a membership to the Delhi Golf Club and an annual stipend of ?2 lakh from the Delhi Golf Foundation, which assisted the family in their relocation to the capital to focus on the youngster’s training, his father told Zee News India.
