 To enable this WhatsApp hidden secret, open a WhatsApp group and tap on the group name to access the option. It is important to note that this method will only hide new images from the gallery and not the old ones.

Protecting your stories from particular contacts

Yes, you can! If you don’t want certain contacts to see your stories, then you can stop them from viewing your status updates and even stories. To do so, 

Go to WhatsApp settings> Account> PrivacySelect Status> ‘My contacts except’Now select specific contacts you wish to avoid and tap the tick mark below.

If you are being too protective and only want a few to be able to see your story, then you can select the “Only share with” option.

To do so, you have to simply download the notification log app and grant access to read the notification. Although blue ticks save us from the constant worry of whether the contact has seen our message or not, it often lands us in trouble when we read a message that we were avoiding for long. Now, you can turn the blue tick off but remember, once you do so, you won’t get read receipts for your sent messages either.

Go to Settings > Account > Privacy > Untick Read Receipts

To enable this feature on iOS smartphones: 

Go to Settings > Account > Privacy > Toggle off Read Receipts

Replying to a group message privately

To restrict the data used by WhatsApp, all you have to do is go to the Settings>Data and Storage usage. Here you can easily decide what all media, including videos, photos, audio, etc., the app can download without asking for permission.
