There have been rumors regarding DLC for the game since there were several questions left unanswered that could be resolved with a possible expansion to Age of Calamity. SPOILERS AHEAD
10 Astor’s Origins
Astor is one of Age of Calamity’s main villains and mystery surrounds this new character. His character model description says that he comes from a “certain village.” The Japanese version of the game adds that he is from a “small village”.
Little else is known about the mysterious so-called Prophet of Doom. Fans have speculated that he could either be from Lurelin as it is a more secluded place that managed to not be hit very hard by the Calamity, perhaps due to its affinity with the prophet, or perhaps Deya Village as it is a place known to have had fortune tellers and seers, according to a late-game side quest.
9 Heroes’ Return
After the events of Age of Calamity, the four Heroes from the future: Sidon, Yunobo, Riju, and Teba, had to inevitably make their return to their own timelines.

It must have been a sad realization for the four to know that the alternative story they had lived for a while was merely in another world. It’d be awesome to know what each hero did once they returned home and how they felt about the events that had just unfolded, even if unrelated to their own timeline.
8 Zelda’s Mother
Zelda’s late mother seems to play a crucial part in the events of Age of Calamity, even if not directly in the game herself.
Her mother was fond of science and exploration and, unlike King Rhoam, Zelda’s father, she didn’t see it as a distraction from her daughter’s “real duty.” She saw it instead as an important necessity that could perhaps one day help in their fight against Calamity Ganon. There is still a lot to dig up and uncover when it comes to her mother and the relationship they shared.
7 What Really Happened
It’s fair to say that many Zelda fans were excited for Age of Calamity because they wanted to experience what happened 100 years before the events of Breath of the Wild.
When Koei Tecmo and Nintendo opted to make the spin-off an alternative story, fans were somewhat taken by surprise. Breath of the Wild left many mysteries for fans to think about and theorize on. So, perhaps an original timeline route would be the perfect way to satisfy fans and bring some new content to the table as well.
6 Ethereal Stones
Ethereal stones may often go unnoticed. But for those that complete side quests, Ethereal Stones are a very common item to come across.

The item’s description says that these stones were brought back from an “otherworldly battleground” but that they have other uses. If these stones are so important for most side quests, why is so little known and mentioned about them? DLC featuring these stones in a more central way would be very welcomed and would perhaps help fans understand the alternative timelines aspect of the story better.
5 The Fortune Teller
Before the events of the Great Calamity, there was a fortune teller that warned the royal family about the events that would soon occur. This led to the Divine Beasts being dug up and eventually consumed by malice, greatly aiding Calamity Ganon.
A prevailing fan theory is that this fortune teller was working for Ganon himself. This theory only grew in popularity once Astor’s character was revealed. It is not known if he is said fortune teller but everything about him hints that he definitely could be.
4 Hollows
Hollows are replicas of the Champions, composed of malice that dissipates once they are slain. These dark clones were never mentioned before Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity but they are clearly a force to be reckoned with as their fighting skills are enough to break Link’s sword.

In the story of Age of Calamity, it seems that they can only be summoned by Astor. However, this might not always be the case and they could very much make their return in the sequel to Breath of the Wild or in an upcoming DLC, perhaps giving fans more information on these evil beings.
3 Kass’ Teacher
Kass is a Rito tribe member. In Breath of the Wild he plays songs around Hyrule and often talks about his teacher. Little information is given about said teacher. All that fans know is that his teacher was a court poet for the Hyrulean royal family, about the same age as Princess Zelda, completely in love with her, and jealous of Link.
It is also known that this character witnessed when Link protected Zelda from a malice-guided Guardian, changing his mind about the hero. Therefore, this means that he was present during the events of the Great Calamity. It would be interesting to finally uncover this character’s identity and find out a bit more about his life and how he came to teach Kass.
2 What Happened To Sooga
Sooga was one of Age of Calamity’s most enjoyable characters. As Master Kohga’s right-hand man, his dedication and loyalty to Kohga is admirable and makes him more likable than most antagonists.
Unfortunately, Sooga is not a playable character in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity and his fate remains somewhat mysterious. During his last appearance on screen, he swears to protect Kohga even if it costs him his life and then is never heard from again. However, there is no real confirmation of his death making fans wonder if he made it out alive.
1 Terrako’s Origins
Though fans now know that Terrako was sort of a companion for Zelda when she was a small child, it is still unknown how the small guardian was created.
Perhaps it was Zelda’s mother that built it, maybe she built it with her daughter and that is why Zelda feels so strongly about the diminutive guardian. Perhaps Zelda was incredibly gifted and pieced it together all by herself. Regardless, it is obvious that Zelda and the egg-shaped guarded have a very strong connection and it would be interesting to get more insight into this and find out more about what led to Terrako’s creation.
