RELATED: 10 Biggest New Video Game Releases Of April 2021
It’s a highly addictive game with a captivating and complex story, which is why a lot of people get lost in the gameplay. This list is here to help the newcomers who haven’t quite learned the ins and outs of Nier Reincarnation but want to dive right in nonetheless.
10 Adjust Your Controls
First thing’s first, players should be comfortable. Before anyone bursts in guns blazing, people should know, that the L1 and R2 controls are “switched” in comparison to other games players might be used to. Some people don’t really care and can get used to it quickly, while others just can’t get over the change.
Whatever it’s worth, it’s recommended to switch these two, so that L1 is dodge, and R2 is the pod program, making life much easier for the seasoned players who are used to that configuration.
9 Choose The Right Difficulty
First of all, there is no shame in playing any game on “easy mode.” Playing any type of game takes getting used to, and it’s wiser to take the time and pick the right difficulty because everyone’s different. This is especially true to Nier Reincarnation, as there are major differences between difficulties to consider.
In easy gameplay, enemies are significantly weaker than the protagonist, and players can use exclusive mod-chips, such as auto dodge and auto shoot. Normal difficulty is the standard difficulty, this is how the game is meant to be played. For those who are bored of standard gaming, the hard gameplay takes away players’ ability to lock on target, and enemies will be a little stronger than the protagonist. But the real beasts of gaming will try the very hard mode, in which enemies are much stronger, and locking to target is still non-existent, but on top of those, every single hit kills the player with one shot. Now that’s what we call extreme overkill.
8 Don’t Take The Tutorial Lightly
Although the tutorial of Nier Reincarnation is much like any other game, and players would rather sleep through the entire thing and start playing for real already, there is a huge difference. In Nier Reincarnation, there is no save option and no checkpoints.
This means, that if a player dies in the tutorial, they’ll have to start the entire thing from scratch. Having said that, it’s recommended to save the hardcore modes of gameplay for after the tutorial, otherwise, players will spend the longest time on ground zero. However, dying in the tutorial will unlock one of the many endings of the story.
7 Looting In The Prologue
Some players may find that they can gather all kinds of items and weapons in the prologue. And although it’s true, they shouldn’t grow too fond of their new findings, as after the prologue is over, the player will be left once again with only their starter weapons and nothing else.

However, after returning to Earth, players can retrieve these beloved items, so there is no harm in looting in the prologue, but players need to keep calm after they disappear and keep an eye out to retrieve them.
6 There Is No Autosave
Players need to manually save the game as much as humanly possible. There are save points all over the map, each with a different usable radius to save in. However, each of these save points is attacked by enemies, who the player has to fight off.
Using the save points will update the map, but besides this, players can activate quick-save in the save point’s radius. It is very important to note early on the lacking of autosave, as people tend to forget the meaning of this. Although the unclarity of the map will surely motivate most players.
5 Lean On The Guerrilla Quests
Guerrilla quests happen several times a day. These can help players reach the next levels, and progress faster in the game than just on their own. These quests are great for those who want to become better players on day one and can open a lot of doors.

It’s recommended for newcomers and seasoned players alike, to grind the Guerrilla quests in order to take significant steps in the right direction.
4 Purchase Stamina Refill Potions
Stamina refill potions refresh every day in the shop and purchasing every potion a player can, can make a huge difference. Stamina is one of the most important things in the game, and it’s worth spending a little money on because stamina is the best investment.
In the long run, players can obtain this amount in no time due to the stamina they bought. Having said that, it’s important to experiment with the right balance.
3 Use The Shooting Game To Raise Your Rank
Every 8 hours, players have access to the shooting game, and living with that opportunity is very important if they want their ranks to grow fast. This is the fastest way to raise someone’s rank, bar none, so if that’s the number one priority, players shouldn’t miss this opportunity.

Ranks can help players move along in the game, and in the very beginning, it’s very important to have a significant or at least decent rank. In order to gain that status and be someone in the game, this is the fastest possible way.
2 Discount
Everyone loves a good bargain. To unlock the shop discount in Nier Reincarnation, players need to visit the resistance camp and reach the space station to start side quests. There’s a quest given to the player by 16D, called “11B’s Momentos.”
Completing the quest will give the player a small sword next to a lot of different little items. Players then should upgrade it, by using some easy materials, and the sword will gain a special bonus which will give the protagonist a 25% discount on store items.
1 Get To Know Your Controls
Using the right combinations of controls can open a lot of doors. A lot of players don’t know, that there’s a jump boost, if they activate a pod mid-air, using it as assistance in the jump, covering a much bigger area. This can come in handy in a lot of cases, as there are places where a simple jump just won’t do.
Another handy trick is an uppercut attack, that can be activated if the player jumps, and then immediately hits heavy attack. This combination of movements can make a huge difference, and players usually get addicted to this little trick.
