The American teenager, who goes by “CoCo,” was born on March 13, 2004. She wasn’t even alive when Venus won her first two Wimbledon titles.
She’s the youngest player to qualify for Wimbledon in the Open Era.
3. Gauff grew up idolizing Venus and Serena Williams and told BBC Sport Serena is “the reason why I play tennis.” She also said she’s “been dreaming to share the court with Venus” in a pre-match interview.
